Traveling again

So I'd planned to goto Oregon for Xmas at my grandparents this year since most all the siblings and parentals will be there. [livejournal.com profile] angie_di was lamenting to her mother that she'd be all alone for a week...and her mother offered to shell out airfare to send her along. I thought about it and realized I had a Companion fare pass and that it would be fun to have her along and show her Oregon.

Fast forward a few weeks, and the plan changes. Seems her parents decide that perhaps she'd like to goto Disneyland for her Birthday/Xmas present...and send me as well.

So, middle of next week(week of the 17th) we are heading to Orange County for a few days..then off to Oregon for a week.

This should be interesting...provided the death march to hit all of my roller-coaster junkie girlfriend's favorite rides doesn't kill me. :-)

bring good orthotic shoes for the death march - it's concrete all the way, and 8 hours of walking on concrete really takes it out of feet.

Stay hydrated - it's a lot more exhausting when dehydrated. Get a good rest the night before traveling, and consider picking up melatonin to help adjust your sleep schedule. Go early to get plenty of rides before the common afternoon thunderstorm.

And above all, you two have fun!

I don't think California tends to have afternoon thunderstorms, and a 1 hour time zone shift seldom bothers me.

The redeye down there won't be fun, because we get into SEA at 3am and don't leave for SNA till 0630.

Have fun! It's a blast - and the evening fireworks are great.

I don't know why I was mixing Disneyland and Disneyworld up. Hey, have fun!

Disneyland is a blast after dark. Most of the little kids go home. Before you go, look at a map and check the Disney website to see which attractions are shut down for renovations and such. I've been there a couple of times, it's a BLAST!! Let me know if you want some more tips and "must see" information.

You available before you leave to install the new vid card? Let me know.
