Haven't been posty much...Disney was great, we hit Disney itself on Friday and it was clear and sunny and crowded. We managed to hit virtually all the rides we wanted to, and ended up making a tactical decision with strategic consequences by going on Splash Mountain at 430pm. We got only sprinkled the first time we went on it, so we looped around and got a fastpass for the 4:15-5:15 window. Except that the second time...we got SOAKED....and it was just getting dark. yeh...bad move. We got dinner and then went on a hunt for sweatshirts/jackets because the shivering was getting bad. We headed over to California Adventure Park and got Caricatures done at [livejournal.com profile] angie_di's request, and then waited and watched the Electric Light Parade. We ducked across the parade route(they have it arranged for brief gaps in the parade to allow for street crossing) and ran for Disney for the 21:30 fireworks show, that unfortunately was cancelled due to highlevel winds.

We decided to find a spot with a decent view of Fantasmic and just hung out and relaxed for a bit before the show started. It was amazing as usual, and I shot some photos and even attempted to take some video of it. We managed to get home about 23:30 or so and pack up everything but what we needed for the next day so we could dash downstairs, store our bags, and check out. We wanted to get to the park by opening time and hit the couple rides we hadn't made it to yet.

We got up on Saturday and rushed around getting ready and checking out of the Hotel. The first bus was actually TWO buses and packed....but we got to the park to learn that the lines were huge even at 07:50. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] angie_di's handy guidebook we figured out what line was best to get into(and amazingly it was right) and we were in the park at about 07:55. We made a beeline for the Finding Nemo subride because it was the one that always had an amazingly long line to it and we figured that first thing would be best. Yeh...it was a good idea in theory. By the time we got there at 08:06 the line was already at the 75 minute wait mark. I was amazed...and apparently its really not even that good a ride!

We hit a few remaining rides like "Its a small world" and a few others before we headed to California Adventure to hit the 2 rides she wanted before going into DownTown Disney to go shopping. It was interesting that California Adventure was quiet and short rides, but Disney was packed to the gills. We had time for the rides and still have breakfast before shopping.

Unfortunately about this time [livejournal.com profile] angie_di started not feeling well, and got progressively sicker as the day went on. By the time we got back to the Hotel to catch the airport shuttle she was miserable and we were raiding the small shoppettes limited stocks of meds before we headed to the airport. We managed to get there and though Security in no time, but she was not any better and getting worse. She caught a nap while we waited, and then we got on the plane. No better there, I felt so bad that there wasn't anything I could do for her except for help her out of her seat to dash for the bathrooms. WE had an amazingly helpful seatmate who didn't complain at all.

We got into Portland right on time and met my aunt and uncle. [livejournal.com profile] angie_di opted to stay at their place and sleep while we all went out to dinner and talked. Got home and she was still zonked so I headed for bed.
